Entertaining: Pea & Ricotta Crostini and Pineapple Gin Fizz

I'm excited to introduce a new series today on Style Within Reach. I love entertaining, secretly collect cocktail napkins and happily serve an appetizer platter in lieu of dinner once a week. One of my biggest gripes about our current apartment is the lack of space for entertaining, I struggle with it all the time. In this new series I will be sharing affordable and easy entertaining ideas, often with help from my little sister, Emma.

Gin is one of the few liquors I enjoy- I've come up with quite a few cocktails lately using it. My sister recently made Pineapple Gin Fizz's for us which are so simple and refreshing. Combine 1 part gin, 1 part pineapple juice to 3 parts seltzer or tonic and garnish with a lime. We also had pea & ricotta crostini.  I started with this recipe from Jamie Oliver and omitted the olive oil and added fresh ricotta and skipped the fava beans. I picked up a bad batch of peas from the farmers market, so we used frozen peas instead and they worked just as well.
